Silvers shoots 78 at Vintage
Bryan Silvers carded a 78 Saturday as the Wolverines placed eighth in the Staples-Motley Invitational.
Silvers was just one stroke out of the Top 10.
Tyler Fix was WDC's No. 2 finisher with a 81. Michael Wing finished seven strokes behind Fix. Jacob Goeden and Duke Harrison finished with a 93 and a 96. Wade Piper brought in a 142.
St. Cloud Cathedral won the tournament with a 303 over the 18-hole course.
Jake Curwin of Shattuck-St. Mary's and T.J. Bruce of St. Cloud Cathedral both shot 71s.
Fix comes up with 88
Tyler Fix carded an 88 and five Wadena-Deer Creek golfers shots in the 90s Friday in the United North Central Invitational at Blueberry Pines.
Shooting in the 90s for WDC were Michael Wing (91), Nick LeTourneau (91), Jacob Goeden (96), Duke Harrison (96) and Bryan Silvers (97).
Dakota Brunelle of Cass Lake-Bena took medalist honors with a 77.
The Wolverines were fourth in the 10-team tournament with a 366. Staples-Motley chalked up a 339.
