Shockers post 13-3, 5-1 victories
WDC ace Jordan Wohlwend was not able to recreate his perfect game against Perham Sunday but he did notch his second victory of the year as the Shockers pummeled the Pirates 13-3.
Wohlwend upped his record to 2-0 with a seven-inning effort that include six walks and nine strikeouts. Wohlwend surrendered only four hits in his complete-game effort.
Perham pitching issued 14 walks but just five hits.
Travis George continued to be indispensable with the bat as he went 2-for-4 and scored three times. Eric Blom doubled and drove in four runs. Wohlwend reached three times on walks and scored all three times. Seth Hamman also drew three walks for the Wovlerines and Casey Johnson drew four.
"Patient hitting and clutch at bats with runners on has been the formula for the Shockers so far," WDC skipper Jayme George said.
Saturday's action saw Travis George striking out 11 and Jayme George driving in three as the Shockers beat Perham 5-1.
Gannon George scored twice for the Shockers.
The Pirates came up with one unearned run in the eighth inning.
