"It's good to see our youth have success early," WDC skipper Jayme George said. "It really helps with their confidence down the road."

Wohlwend held the Wildcats scoreless until the seventh and struck out seven Dent hitters in picking up the mound win. Travis George struck out five in a relief appearance. Eric Weller was charged with the loss.

Jeff Ronning went 2-for-4 at the plate for Dent.

The victory gave the Shockers a 2-1 record in amateur ball. The club lost to Bertha in the season opener but crushed Detroit Lakes 10-0 May 5 in a seven-inning game. Travis George and Jamie Nordlund both drove in a pair of runs against the Angels. George was the winning hurler with strong relief help from Hamman.

The Shockers will host New York Mills Sunday in Deer Creek. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m.
