Shockers blank Perham in rain-shortened game
Jordan Wohlwend fired a one-hitter Saturday as the Wadena-Deer Creek Shockers blanked Perham 6-0 in a rain-shortened game at Deer Creek.
"Jo Jo was wheeling," WDC skipper Randy Jahnke said. "He had Perham fooled from when they got out of their cars."
Brad Ellingson collected Perham's only hit off Wohlwend in the fourth.
Jamie Nordlund and Casey Johnson both had two hits for the Shockers. Nordlund also came up with two walks. Wohlwend stole three bases.
The Shockers are now 4-2 in Hi-10 league play and 6-4 overall. The Shockers will play in the Bemidji Tournament Saturay and Sunday. They will kick off the tournament with a 10 a.m. game with Roseau.

Kyle Dykhoff struck out 12 in a complete game mound performance as Bluffton whipped New York Mills 9-2.
Dykoff scattered five hits and gave up just one earned run in the victory.
Kyle Geiser came up with four hits in the victory, including a double. The Braves collected 13 hits.
