A shed, skidsteer, about 30 bales of hay and several other farm items were lost in a fire in New York Mills on Friday.

Charles Jacobson, of 36691 County Highway 67, reported that his shed was on fire, with flames exiting the roof, at about 6:45 p.m., according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office.

Upon the arrival of the New York Mills Fire Department, the shed was fully engulfed. A local neighbor assisted the fire department by removing some hay bales with his skidsteer to clear a path to extinguish the rest of the fire.

The Deer Creek Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
