Sept. 4 concert by Steve Miller Tribute Band will help homeless veterans
On Saturday, Sept. 4, beginning at 8 p.m., the Steve Miller Tribute Band, Abracadabra, will perform at Playtime Sports Bar, 5 miles south of Perham on Minnesota Highway 78.
This tribute concert by current and former Steve Miller Band members will include Billy, Ricky and Paul Peterson and Kenny Lee Lewis and feature songs like "Fly Like an Eagle," "The Joker," "Take the Money and Run," "Livin' in the USA" and more.
Opening for the group will be Larry Long, America's Troubadour and Smithsonian Folkways Recording Artist. Long's name will be familiar to many in the area for his "Elder's Wisdom, Children's Song" projects he did for two years with the Perham Public School District. He has also been a frequent performer at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center.
Tickets for the concert are $10. The proceeds from this event will go to The Salvation Army - Harbor Light Center who provide transitional housing with supportive services to formerly homeless veterans of the U.S. military.
