A night of drinking at a Menahga bar led to a fight and assault charges filed in Wadena County District Court.
Shortly before midnight on Sept. 11, a Menahga police officer investigated an alleged assault. The offer learned from witness testimony that Joshua Derek Peterson, 29, had punched another bar patron in his nose, breaking it, according to court documents.
Interviewed on Sept. 13, Peterson told police he didn't remember much of what happened that night, but did recall punching a man, according to court documents. A videotape from surveillance cameras also allegedly showed Peterson striking the man.
Peterson was charged Nov. 23 with third-degree assault, a felony. His first court appearance was set for Dec. 20.
