Sebeka man sentenced for meth
Brandon James Hansen, 27, who last year was found with methamphetamine at Little Pine Lake near Perham, was sentenced in Otter Tail County District Court earlier this month. The Sebeka resident will serve 180 days in the county jail, with two days credited for time already served.
In lieu of further incarceration in a state institution, Hansen will be on probation. According to court documents, five years of successful probation will result in a change from a felony to a misdemeanor conviction. He will pay a $1,000 fine in court costs.
On May 15, 2012, Hansen unlawfully possessed one or more mixtures containing a controlled substance, court records show. A baggie recovered from the defendant at Little Pine Lake was later field tested and found to be positive for meth.
Hansen, as noted by court administration, had a previous controlled substance conviction within the past 10 years.
