Sandra Jo Saltzman, 48, of Hewitt, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at her home.
She was born April 2, 1961, to Howard and Rosa Stevens at Charleston, Ill. She married Woodrow Christian Saltzman Jr. on April 22, 1982, at the First Baptist Church in Pontiac, Ill.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a gypsy at heart. She enjoyed reading and traveling the world. She also collected Disney memorabilia, jewelry, and porcelain dolls. She had lived in Hewitt for the last 10 years.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 24, at the Church of The Nazarene in Hewitt with the Rev. Johannes Marsland presiding. Honorary pallbearers were Woodrow C. Saltzman Jr., Pepper Jo Saltzman, Travis Howard Saltzman, Woodrow C Saltzman III, Lenard James Mousseau and Mike Allan Parker. Survivors include her husband, Woodrow Christain Saltzman Jr.; daughters, Pepper Saltzman, Starla Mousseau and Tonya Saltzman; sons, Travis Saltzman and Woodrow Christian Saltzman, III; seven grandchildren; sisters, Debbie Van Hoorebeke of Gibson City, Ill., Dixie Saltzman of Chatsworth, Ill., Dallas Edwards of Springfield, Ill., Laura Jesse of Padukah and Liz Navajez of Minonk, Ill.; 14 nieces and nephews; and 12 great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Rosa; sister, Patricia Rose Stevens; and a nephew and a great-niece.
