Selmer "Sam" Moen, 82, of Vining, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at the Henning Golden Living Center in Henning.
Selmer (Sam) Moen was born Nov. 21, 1927 at home south of Vining, the son of George and Augusta (Johnson) Moen. He was baptized by the Rev. Rogne and confirmed (Sept. 5, 1943) by the Rev. Framstad at the (West) Nidaros Lutheran Church. He was a lifetime member of the Nidaros Lutheran Church. He was the custodian at the Nidaros Lutheran Church for several years. He was on the Nidaros Township board and was a life time farmer.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 22 at Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Clitherall. Music was provided by Linda Paulson, organist and the Herbranson family, vocalists. Casketbearers were Duane Bjerketvedt, Bradley Linder, Lyle Kachelmyer, Stanley Suchy, David Uhren, Darrol Underhill and Dennis Underhill. Interment is in the church cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Mae (Bert) Linder; brothers, Elmer and Millerd; nieces, Barbara (Duane) Bjerketvedt, Doreen (Mark) Ross, and Adele (Greg) Bainter; and nephews, Bradley (Cindy) Linder, and Darrel (Sandi) Tuel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gladys Tuel, and Doris DeLancy; and a niece, Glenda Sethney.
