Scott Koennicke, chief of the Menahga Police Department, speaks about the kick off of the 2010 Safe and Sober campaign. "Over the last three years statewide, officers arrested 1,800 impaired drivers over the Labor Day holiday weekend," Koennicke said. "In 2009, Minnesota tallied a record-low number of alcohol-related deaths. ... And while the drop in deaths is positive news, the fact is that 141 people were killed last year and more than 32,000 motorists were arrested for DWI."
