According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office, the two men were doing excavation work at Allen's residence, located approximately four miles southwest of Wadena. Allen was seated in the driver's seat of the dump truck and Moench was attempting to dislodge dirt that was stuck to the bucket of the excavator, when the bucket hooked the front of the dump truck. Moench was unaware he had hooked the truck and as he lifted the bucket it lifted the front end of the truck approximately 10 feet off the ground. The truck then came free of the bucket and fell back to the ground. Allen was able to exit the truck but was transported to Tri County Health Care by ambulance. Deer Creek Rescue assisted at the scene.
