Roy Line

The funeral service for Roy Line of Verndale will be held 10 a.m. Dec. 22, 2012, at Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Verndale, with Pastor Daryl Jacobson presiding. Friends may call at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service.

Roy, 96, passed away Dec. 19, 2012, at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa.

Roy Arnold Line was born June 11, 1916, to Alfred Jacob and Gerda Marie (Grandlund) Line in Clarissa Village. Roy and Evelyn Marie Line were united on March 13, 1972, in Aitkin. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. Also, he found his livelihood working with heavy equipment, and in 1976 he retired from business and moved from Colorado to Minnesota where Weiher Construction was built.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife in March 2008; parents, Alfred and Gerda; brother, Joyce Line; sister, Thelma Meadow; sisters-in-law, Irene and Betty Line; and brothers-in-law, Vernon Anderson and Joseph Allen.

He is survived by his daughter, Peggy (Mike) Abbitichio of New York; step-daughter, Audrey (Roger) Moede of Grand Rapids; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers Stanley and Allyn; sisters, Sylvia Anderson, Beatrice Allen and Glenda (John) McDonald; sister-in-law Velma Line; and many nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of Roy's nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Kermit Line, Donald Line, Dwight Line, Jerry Line, Stuart Anderson and Jimmy Anderson. Military honors will be provided by Elmer Goche Post 3922, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Wadena.

Burial will be next to his wife, Evelyn, in Green Lawn Cemetery near Verndale.

Arrangements were with Schuller Family Funeral Homes in Wadena.
