The Mass of Christian Burial for Rosalinde Lindner of Wadena will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bertha, with Father Peter VanderWeyst and Father Aaron Kuhn as co-celebrants. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Domian-Anderson Chapel in Bertha, with Rosary at 5:00 and Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Rosalinde "Rose" Michel Lindner, 77, of Wadena, MN, passed away May 3, 2014 in Fargo, ND, with her family by her side.

Rose was born on July 15,1936 to Friedrich and Lisolette (Muller) Michel, in Schwalheim, Germany. Rose was united in marriage to Carl Lindner on June 5,1957 in Aschaffenburg, Germany. In February of 1958, she left Germany on a ship and landed in New York with only $38. She took the bus to Iowa to be with her husband and his family. She learned English by watching American TV. They lived in Iowa until March of 1969 when they moved to Minnesota, where they farmed west of Bertha, MN, until the death of Carl in October of 1998. She worked at the West Central Turkey Plant in Pelican Rapids from 1973-1979. She became a federal meat/poultry inspector in 1979 until she retired in 2000. In 1999, she moved from Bertha to Wadena, after the death of Carl.

Rose was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic of Bertha, where she was involved with Christian Mother's. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and volunteered at the Tri-County Hospital in Wadena. Her interests include spending time with family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid soccer fan, and would watch any soccer game she could find on TV. She loved listening to her German music. In her later years she took several sight-seeing bus trips; and made a couple trips back to Germany to see her family.

She is survived by her sons, James (Pam) Lindner of Fargo, ND, David (Sherry) Lindner of Sabin, Ronald (Penny) Lindner of Dilworth, and daughter Kathleen Lindner of Wadena; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sister Inge Seipel, and brother Horst Michel, of Germany; along with several nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Carl, and her parents.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jolene Manley, Holly Pemble, Amber Lindner, Jennifer Voeltz, Sarah Lindner, Brad Lindner, Becky Monson and Zach Baker.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Lindner, Dennis Lindner, Carl Lindner, Robert Manley, Tyler Bouma, Derek Bouma, Peter Monson, Miguel Stiff and Chad Pemble.

Burial will be in St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery in Bertha, MN.
