Ronny Coats-Kassan, 53, of Ashland, Ky., died June 6,2007, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 21, 1953, in Aberdeen, S.D., the daughter of Marylee (Heaton) Coats and the late Ronald Coats.
She graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing, Fargo, N.D., and was employed for 13 years as an operating nurse at St. Luke's. She was coordinator of St. Luke's Same Day Surgery, charge nurse of surgery at North Memorial in Robbinsdale, Minn., and manager of the organ transplant department in Fargo. She married Dr. Martin A. Kassan on Aug. 3, 1991.
She was an office practice administrator and registered nurse and a member of AORN, CNOR and RNFA.
The funeral was June 10 at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland, Ky. Memorials may be made to Lupus Foundation of America, 2000 L. St. NW, Suite 710, Washington, D.C., 20036.
Survivors include her husband, Martin A. Kassan; daughter, Alexis Kassan of St. Petersburg, Fla.; mother, Marylee Coats, Verndale; father-in-law, Sam Kassan, Ashland, Ky.; brother-in-law, Curtis Snitker; nephew, Connor Snitker, Bismarck, N.D.; aunts, uncles and cousins; special friend, Charlene Schrieber, Fargo. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Coats, and sister, Nancy Snitker.
