Roger Herbert Wallace, 63, of Perham, passed away May 23, 2009, at his home.
He was born Dec. 1, 1945, in Perham to Herbert Theodore and Lenora Luella (Steebe) Wallace. He attended Perham High School and graduated with the class of 1964. On April 30, 1966, he married Mary Jane Frost at Trinity Lutheran Church in New York Mills. They made their home in St. Paul for a short time then moved to Hutchinson, Minn., where he worked at the power plant for eight years. They moved back to New York Mills in 1973 where he was employed at Lund Boats until 1995. He also worked with his wife in the Hamburger Hollow, which they owned and operated from 1988 to 2002. He went back to cooking in 2004 at Billy's Bar in Vergas.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church in New York Mills with the Revs. Rod Krueger and Del Meyer officiating. The pallbearers were John Wallace, Phil Boedigheimer, Bill Kohls, Larry Frost, Jon Frost and Mike Frost. He will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, New York Mills. Survivors include his wife, Mary Wallace of Perham; his daughter, Colisa (Alain) Wallace Lemal of St. Louis Park, Minn.; his son, Craig Wallace of Perham; two grandsons; brothers, Ron (Wanda) Wallace of New York Mills, and Gordy (Sharry) Wallace of New York Mills; sister, Shirley Wallace of Hayworth, Wis.; his constant companion throughout his illness, Frida, his Chihuahua; many other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Lenora; his sister and her husband, Sharon "Tuffy" and Bob Billberg; sister-in-law, Brenda Blumberg; and brother-in-law, Paul Frost.
