Richard Wallace Rentz, 80, of rural Sebeka, passed away April 4, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.
Rich was born to Ralph and Olga (Gregerson) Rentz on Oct. 26, 1929, in Bertha. Rich was united in marriage with Lola Conn on Oct. 15, 1951, in Wadena. He served in the Army beginning in January 1952, and was honorably discharged in December 1954. He lived his entire life in the area and will be remembered as a diligent farmer and plumber. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
Funeral services were held April 7 in the United Methodist Church in Wadena, with the Rev. Shirley Nelson officiating. Honorary pallbearers were all of Rich's grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jeff Fischer, Jon Rentz, Kris Peterson, Matt Fischer, Justin Heide and Tanner Rentz. Military honors were provided by the Elmer Goche Post 3922, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Wadena. Interment was in the Wadena Cemetery in Wadena.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Lola; sons, Richard (Jennifer) of Alexandria, Kevin (friend Shari) of Arizona, and Bob (Heidi) of Sebeka; daughters, Deb (Jerry) Fischer of Wadena, Becky Peterson, and Tammy (Brian) Heide, both of Moorhead; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Laverne of Wadena, and Wayne of Anoka; and sisters, Betty Seaton of Wadena, and Mavis Odegard of Montevideo.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Olga; brothers, Willard and Robert; a sister, Carol, and a son-in-law, Warren Peterson.
