Region baseball tournaments on tap Aug. 6-15
The Region 14 and 16C baseball tournaments will be held Aug. 6-15 at seven different sites.
The Hi-10 League champ squares off with the Resorters East runner-up Aug. 7 in a 10 a.m. game at Sebeka. Other first round games that day will see the Lake and Pine South champ playing the Resorters East wild card at 10 a.m. in Nimrod, the Reorters East winner facing the Lake and Pine South wild card at 1:30 p.m. in Sebeka and the Hi-10 runner-up squaring off with the Lake and Pine South runner-up at Nimrod in a 1:30 p.m. contest.
Second round action will also be held Aug. 7 with games at 2 and 5 p.m. in Verndale, 4 p.m. in Sebeka and 5 p.m. in Nimrod.
Round 3 games are slated for Aug. 8 in Nimrod with Rounds 4 and 5 set for Aug. 14. The Region 14C champion will be crowned Aug. 15 with the conclusion of a noon title game in Nimrod.
Region 16C action starts Aug. 6 with the Resorters West champinon Brandon-Evansville Blue Dogs hosting the Lake and Pine North wild card team at 8 p.m. The Countryside League winner plays an 8 p.m. game at Dent. New York MIlls will host an 8 p.m. match-up between the Countryside League runner-up and the Resorters West runner-up. Menahga will host an 8 p.m. contest between the lake and Pine North champ and the Resorters West wild card.
Round 2 play is set for Aug. 7 in Menahga with two games set for 1:30 p.m. and two more at 4:30 p.m. The tournament's two unbeaten clubs meet at 8 p.m. Aug. 7 in Menahga. The loser's bracket will have two 1:30 p.m. games Aug. 8 at Menahga. Rounds 4 and 5 are slated for Aug. 14 in Menahga. The title game will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 15 in Nimrod.
Each region will send a champion and a wild card team to the Class C state tournament.
