Recovery group wrapping up outdoor work
The last three Wadena-Otter Tail Long Term Recovery clients displaced by the June 17, 2010 tornadoes are back in homes, according to volunteer coordinator Tanya Nelson.
With winter setting in, the group is wrapping up outdoor construction and will continue with indoor work under construction manager Ted Black.
Nelson said that both outdoor work and indoor work are welcoming volunteers.
"There are a lot of finishing touches that we need to do, some inside work," Nelson said.
She said that the Long Term Recovery Committee welcomes fundraising ideas from the public.
According to case manager Wendy Molstad, the current unmet need for all clients in Otter Tail and Wadena counties is $400,000, but hopefully about $200,000 to $220,000 of that is slated to be fulfilled by the small cities grant to properties in the city of Wadena, Wadena Township and Leaf River Township.
The peak unmet need total was about $1.6 million, she said.
