Raymond Stolle

Funeral services for Raymond Wendell Stolle of Wadena and formerly of Verndale, were held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wadena with Rev. Nate Loer presiding. Ray passed away at the age of 79 years on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.

Ray was born July 1st, 1934 at the Wesley Hospital in Wadena to Fred and Ethel (Jensen) Stolle. He was baptized in the American Lutheran Church in Hecla, South Dakota and later confirmed at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Verndale. He attended school in Wadena County District 8 north of Verndale for seven years, and then attended Verndale Public School. He then stayed home to work on his parents farm until 1974 when the family moved to Wadena. In July 1988 following his parents death, he moved into the Humphrey Manor in Wadena.

While at the Manor, Ray met many friends and enjoyed his meal time and travel opportunities. He worked at the Shady Lane Nursing home, then the Rising Phoenix until this March when he moved into the Fair Oaks Lodge. He took pride in reading his bible, going to all church functions, and doing things for others. He was a man of great faith.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ethel Stolle. He is survived by his brother, Norman (Marilyn) Stolle of Battle Lake, Minnesota; nephew Darrell (Julie) Stolle of Fargo North Dakota; niece Diane (Chuck) Ross of Battle Lake; grand-nephews Trevor (Keshia) Solem of Alexandria, Andrew (Nicole) Stolle of Fargo, and Grant Solem (fiance Abbey Schmidtman) of Hudson, Wisconsin; grand-nieces Britta Stolle and son Bridger of Missoula, Montana, and Jacey Ross of Battle Lake.

Pallbearers were Darrell Stolle, Chuck Ross, Bill Stolle, Trevor Solem, Andrew Stolle and Grant Solem.

Interment was in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Verndale.
