Raiders trounce Tigers 16-2

Preston Riewer, Dillon Card and Joseph VanDenheuvel combined to drive in 10 runs as Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale clobbered Pine River-Backus 16-2 Friday at Pillager.

Riewer and VanDenheuvel both had three hits in BHV’s 11-hit attack.

The Raiders exploded for 11 runs in the fourth frame.

Card combined with Ethan Korfe to hold the Tigers to one hit – a double by Tony Brunhuber.

The victory gave the Raiders a 5-1 record.

Dillon Card fanned four in tossing three innings of shutout relief Friday as the Raiders defeated the Huskies.

With Card holding the Pillager bats in check, the Raiders broke a 6-6 tie with three runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh.

Mitchell Blaha, Matt Lipinski and Mac Schluttner joined Card in driving in two runs. Blaha, Schluttner and Ethan Korfe joined Card with two hits.

Tristan Litke and Zach Forsberg combined for four hits and three RBIs in the loss.

BHV 13-12, Parkers Prairie 0-2

Dillon Card and Eric Blaha combined for 10 hits, seven runs and six RBIs Tuesday as the Raiders swept a Park Region Conference twinbill at Parkers Prairie.

Card homered, combined with Will Kramer for six hits and struck out 10 as the Raiders romped in the opener.

Kyle Schlosser, Logan Nibbe and Jacob Bunde collected solo hits for Parkers Prairie.

Five BHV players had multiple hit games in the nightcap. Blaha and Riewer both collected three hits and scored three runs. Zach Johnson went 2-for-3 with three ribbies. Card and Mitchell Blaha combined for four hits, three runs and three RBIs.

Riewer combined with Eric Blaha in holding Parkers to three hits in Game 2.

Schlosser went 2-for-3 in the loss.
