Raiders earn four firsts at Staples
The Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale Raiders racked up four firsts and a pair of seconds Friday in the Cardinal Invitational at Staples.
Justin Gordon won the high jump with a 6-2 effort while Samuel Moore took first in the discus with a 134-04.5, the boys’ 4x100 relay team ran a winning 47.18 and Samara Tobeck captured the discus throw with a 101-4.
Diego Rodiguez gave the Raiders a runner-up time of 23.77 in the 200 dash. Also taking second was BHV’s 4x200 relay team with a 1:38.7.
The Little Falls Flyers won titles in both the boys and girls competition. Otter Tail Central was second in both meets. The BHV boys were third with 69 points while the Raider girls took fourth with 89.Raiders take seventh at Park Rapids
Samuel Moore sparked the Raiders as they placed seventh in a 10-team field April 22 at the Park Rapids Lions Invitational.
Moore won the discus with a toss of 131-8 and claimed third in the shot put with a 39-2.
Justin Gordon was also an individual standout with a runner-up jump of 5-10 in the high jump and a fourth place time of 45.34 in the 300 hurdles.
