Raiders charge Bucs in 41-30 wrestling loss
The Bertha-Hewitt/Raiders racked up six impressive victories Tuesday in a 41-30 Section 6A team tournament loss to Border West.
"It was the best complete dual that the Raiders have wrestled all year and we were close to winning the dual," BHV Had Coach Mike Barthel said. "I think that this showed everyone that the Raiders will be a force to reckon with next year."
Justin Gordon posted a huge 6-4 decision over Border West standout Tracer Lee and Dakota Finck scored a pin at 145 to keep the Raiders in touch with the highly-touted Buccaneers. Dillion Card racked up his sixth overtime victory of the season in defeating state-ranked Charles Maanum 6-4. Andrew Bounds, Dalton Baker and Colin Turchin all helped the Raiders finish strong as they won their matches at 195, 220 and 285 in under 50 seconds.
The Raiders now start preparing for the Section 6A individual tournament Feb. 24-25 in Barrett.
