Radiothon coming up Dec. 2-3
The 6th Annual Radiothon to End Child Abuse will be held from noon Dec. 2 through noon Dec. 3.
Radio stations KWAD/KNSP and Superstation K-106 will again be asking for your help to end child abuse. Five county Child Abuse Prevention Councils will assist the stations; they are Cass, Hubbard, Ottertail, Todd and Wadena. In the first five years that KWAD/KNSP and Superstation K-106 have been part of the Radiothon, nearly $125,000 has been raised. The parent company of KWAD/KNSP and Superstation K-106, Omni Broadcasting, started the Radiothon in 1989 and since that time more than $2 million has been raised. Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota is the partner agency and all money stays in Minnesota and with our county partners.
The counties involved have been busy collecting items for the auction portion of the Radiothon. Again this year, organizers will have a huge selection of items to bid on that have been donated by area businesses. You can find a complete auction list on websites KWADKNSP.COM or SUPERSTATIONK106.COM. This year you will also be able to make your pledge online, just go to either station website.
The numbers to call to make a pledge will be (218) 632-SAFE or (877) 509-SAFE. You may also call the Arvig Communications Auction Line to bid on items; those numbers are 632-2BID or toll free (877) 509-2BID.
On Dec. 2 staring at noon, the radio stations will broadcast from Super One Foods in Wadena. Starting at 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 3, the radio stations will be broadcasting from their main
