Prime Time group has been active since last July
People in Wadena and surrounding areas have a chance to travel in a group setting with a club formed in summer 2010.
"The Prime Time Club is a travel program that's operated through the bank, and it encompasses travel and educational opportunities," Julia Palmer of Mid-Central Federal Savings Bank said.
She said that people do not have to be customers of Mid-Central to join, and the group includes people from other areas besides Wadena. About 300 members make up the group at present, and it has been in operation since July 2010.
Recent extended tours have included a trip to England and France during the Royal Wedding and the Pella Tulip Festival and Amana Colonies in early May.
Upcoming tours include Door Country/Washington Island in June; Medora, N.D. in July and Hostfest at Minot, N.D. in the fall.
While the group takes long overseas and out-of-state trips, there are also short tours of the sights, shows and history of Minnesota.
Educational programs, life enrichment programs and movies at the Cozy Theatre are also part of the experience.
"The program is about camaraderie, traveling together," Palmer said.
"I'm glad that we were able to bring the Prime Time program to Wadena," Palmer said. "When I first brought the program here from my previous bank, some of the members had already traveled with me from here."
Mid-Central customers can join with a minimum balance of $1,000 in their checking or savings accounts or a combined balance of $10,000 in certificates of deposit.
A third option, which is open to people who are not members of the bank, is a $25 membership fee to be assessed each quarter.
