Prairie Fire to present 'Alice in Wonderland'
Auditions for Prairie Fire Children's Theatre's original musical production of "Alice in Wonderland' will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 12 at Memorial Auditorium in Wadena.
Up to 83 children are needed to play the roles of Alice, The White Rabbit, The Duchess, The Cook, The Cheshire Cat, The March Hare, The Dormouse, The Jack Of Hearts, The King Of Hearts, The Caterpillar, Tweedledum, Tweedledee, The Deck Of Cards, The Flowers, and The Birds.
Auditions are open to anyone age 7-18. The audition process lasts up to two hours and all auditioners are required to be in attendance the complete time.
Rehearsals will be held from 1-5:15 p.m. throughout the remainder of the week, with performances scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, July 16 and 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 17 at Memorial Auditorium in Wadena.
Two professional actor/directors from the staff of Prairie Fire Children's Theatre will direct the production and play the roles of Queen Of Hearts and The Madhatter.
This week long Prairie Fire Children's Theatre residency is being sponsored by Wadena Friends of the Library and Wadena Community Education.
According to local records, this is 15th visit to Wadena. In those years, "Alice in Wonderland" has never been performed. Last year's residency was "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
