Pettit's hat trick paces Wolverines to 7-2 win

Wadena-Deer Creek sophomore Bridger Pettit scored his third hat trick of the season Saturday as the Wolverines snapped a six-game losing string by topping Kittson Central 7-2.

Taylor Bienusa and Mitchell Swanson both collected a pair of goals for WDC. Bienusa and Trenton Wollenburg both had two assists.

The Wolverines struck four times in the first period and never looked back. Dylan Isola gave his team two shutout periods and stopped 27 of 29 shots.

Kyle Petersburg iced both goals for the Bearcats.

The victory gave the Wolverines a 4-12 record.

Sam Coborn had a hat trick and the Panthers peppered the goal with 58 shots in a Mid-State Conference victory Jan. 13.

Bridger Pettit gave the Wolverines a 1-1 tie with the Panthers with an unassisted goal at the 12:16 mark.
