Peters family selling to, staying with Thrifty White
Thrifty White Pharmacy announced in a news release it will be purchasing the Peters Thrifty White drug store after the close of business on Tuesday, Dec. 7 from owners David and Diane Peters.
This purchase will change the ownership of the pharmacy, but much of the merchandise and services will remain as it is. David and Diane have been associated with Thrifty White Pharmacy through the company's Independent Retailer Program and already use many of the same systems and merchandising programs as Thrifty White Pharmacy. David, Diane and the rest of the current pharmacy and store team will continue to fill your prescription and health care needs. As the months go by other services will be added such as the ability to have refills of your monthly medications managed for you. All patient records will be available to patients after the sale.
"Changes involving insurance and Medicare have made running a single independent pharmacy very challenging recently," David and Diane Peters said in a joint release. "With this sale, it allows the capable Thrifty White administrative staff to handle the contracts and paperwork and allows us to focus on the everyday prescription needs of our customers. It was a very difficult decision to make, however we are very confident that selling to Thrifty White was the best choice for both our employees and customers. We feel that under Thrifty White Pharmacy our customers will continue to receive the high quality, personal service they have become accustomed to over the years. We would like to stress that we are not going anywhere, we will continue to work for Thrifty White Pharmacy as employees -- which should make this transition much smoother. You will still see the same faces behind the counter. We look forward to utilizing the technology, resources and support Thrifty White has to offer."
Thrifty White Pharmacy will be open the same hours as Peters Thrifty White Drug currently operates. Thrifty White Pharmacy will offer the same services as currently provided such as prescription mail out service, deliveries and an interest-free 30 day charge program. Patients that use the same medication month after month can notify the pharmacy to have their prescription automatically filled and waiting for them on a set day of each month.
Thrifty White Pharmacy has contracts with most insurance companies and should be able to fill your prescription even if the insurance hasn't been accepted in the past. Let the store personnel know which insurance plan you would like to use and we will look into contracting with that provider.
