Pearson joins Wadena County Sheriff’s Department
Wadena County Sheriff Michael D. Carr announced the hiring of their newest deputy, Jamie Pearson, who replaces Deputy Luke Manderschied who transferred into Wadena County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Manager.
Pearson who is a native of both the Staples and Pillager area graduated from Pillager High School. After graduation, he attended Central Lakes College in Brainerd where he received his A.A. Degree in Criminal Justice. He also attended Hibbing Community College and completed skills training. Pearson worked for the Staples Police Department for the past three years as a school resource officer and patrol officer and also part time with the Wadena Police Department.
“Pearson is going to be a good fit for the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office who brings good experience in many areas of Law Enforcement, great personal skills and a strong investigative drive. We look forward to him serving Wadena County Residents for many years to come,” Carr said.
Sheriff Carr says Pearson will be going through field training with Deputy Joe Schoon for the next couple of months learning the county, and the policy and procedures of the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Pearson and his wife, Kelly, reside in the Staples Area.
Pearson’s hire was approved by the Wadena County Board at its Nov. 5meeting.
