Panthers sweep doubleheader with Wolverines

Bailee Jarger and Morgan Dean tacked up victories as the Park Rapids Panthers swept a Mid-State twinbill with Wadena-Deer Creek Friday on the WDC diamond.

Jarger held the Wolverines to four hits as the Panthers won the opener 12-3. Dean was credited with the win in Game 2 as the Panthers took advantage of six WDC errors to gain a 17-6 victory.

Morgan Zeise and Sam Manselle were hung with the pitching losses for WDC.

Michaela Lehmkuhl led the Wolverines at the plate in Game 1 with two safeties. Maddy Hinojos went 2-for-4 at the plate and Sam Manselle collected a two-run single for WDC in Game 2.

Pequot Lakes 16-19, WDC 1-0

Katie White homered three times and gained a pair of pitching wins Tuesday as the Patriots crushed the Wolverines in a Mid-State Conference doubleheader.

White went 2-3 at the plate in the opener, scored three runs and drove in three.

Haley Wiebolt was 4-4 with four runs, two RBIs and a triple and Kayla Miller and Emily Wgeishofski both homered for the Patriots. Haley Wiebolt scored three times

White hit all three of her round-trippers in Game 2. She blasted a grand slam and a three-run shot in the second inning and ran her RBI total to nine with a two-run shot in the fourth.

Maddy Hinojos, Michaela Lehmkuhl and Victoria Witthuhn collected hits for WDC in the first game. Sam Manselle came up WDC’s lone hit in Game 2.
