Olive (Ollie) Peterson, 89, died peacefully Oct. 19, 2009, in the Golden Living Center in Henning.
She was born Olive Leora Johnson on Nov. 21, 1919 in Inman Township near Deer Creek to George and Lettie (Rasmussen) Johnson. She grew up around Henning and Deer Creek and attended Deer Creek High School. On Feb. 19, 1949, she married Harold Peterson and lived on their dairy farm a half mile from where she was born.
An open house celebration of her life is being planned for later in November. Arrangements are with the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena (www.johnsonmemorialhome.com).
Survivors include three children: Mary Ryan, Dent, Ronald Peterson, Deer Creek, and Lori Newman, Henning, and three grandchildren: Layla Witthuhn, Willmar, Graham Newman, St. Cloud, and Will Ryan, Fargo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, and three sisters.
