NYM woman dies in crash
One person is dead after a two-vehicle accident Friday, Sept. 30 near New York Mills on U.S. Highway 10.
Guylah Koehler, 76, of New York Mills, died after her 2002 Ford Taurus collided with an asphalt truck, driven by Donald C Mullen, 68, of Menahga, around 8:40 a.m. just north of New York Mills. Mullen suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
According to the report, Koehler was approaching U.S. Highway 10 from County Road 137, when she failed to yield, causing a collision with the asphalt truck, which was westbound on 10. After the collision, the vehicles came to rest in the ditch on Hwy 10. Both drivers were extricated from the vehicles.
The accident caused the closure of the westbound lane of U.S. Highway 10 for around 2 1/2 hours.
The Perham Fire Department, New York Mills EMS, Perham Ambulance, Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office and Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene.
