NYM Regional Cultural Center calls for regional art
A call to artists for submissions for the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center's 15th Annual Regional Art Show May 7 through June 18 has been issued.
The annual Regional Art Show at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center is open to all artists working in any medium. Each artist may submit one or two works to this non-juried show which will be on display in the main gallery of the Center from May 7 to June 18. A reception for the artists will be held Saturday, May 14 from 3-5 p.m.
Artists should bring their work to the Cultural Center on Wednesday, May 4 from 3-5 p.m., Thursday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., or Friday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to noon. There is no fee to enter this show. However, each entrant is asked to become a full Regional Artist member of the Cultural Center by contributing a minimum of $10 at the time work is delivered to the Center. This modest fee helps the Center keep its gallery space available to regional artists and gives each artist full membership in the Center for one year.
If you are not able to bring your work on these days, make an appointment to deliver it at another time by calling (218) 385-3339. Work must have been completed in calendar years 2008, 2009, or 2010 or 2011 unless special circumstances merit an exception to this rule. Artists may choose to make their work available for purchase during the show. All art submitted must be ready for gallery presentation. For example, photographs must be matted and framed. Paintings must be ready for gallery hanging.
Entry forms are available at the Cultural Center or online at www.kulcher.org. Cash awards of $50 will be presented to the People's Choice winner at the conclusion of the show. There will also be four $50 "best in category" awards given at the reception on May 14. Categories will be established after submissions are complete based on the number of submissions in each medium. The People's Choice award will be made on June 18.
