Jon Hinrichs saw his Hawley Nuggets hit their stride in the second half Tuesday night and rack up a 67-49 victory over Wadena-Deer Creek.


The Nuggets and the Wolverines went into the half tied at 26-all. Hawley dropped in the first six points of the second half and dominated the scoring 41-23.

"We didn't handle their press very well early in the second half," WDC head coach Tom VanErp said. "Give the Nuggets credit, they shot very well in the second half."

Devon Pekas, a 6-5 sophomore center, led the Nuggets with 18 points. The Nuggets also got 16 points from 6-4 forward Luke VanHavermaet. Kevin Olson netted 10.

Jordan Reed led the Wolverines with 18 points while Ryan Redfield hit double figures with 14.

The Wolverines had a 40-34 edge in rebounds with Reed grabbing 13.

The Nuggets went to 15-7 with the victory while the Wolverines dropped to 8-13.

Cody Pulju came up with 32 points Monday night as the top-ranked Trojans edged the Wolverines on their home court.

The red-hot Pulju scored 21 of his game points in the first half and finished the game with five treys.

Jordan Reed and Ryan Redfield tallied 14 points apiece for the Wolverines. Isaiah Toedter and Ben Birch collected 11 each. Reed and Birch came up with double-doubles as they hauled in 15 and 14 rebounds respectively.

The Wolverines scrambled back from a 42-24 halftime deficit as Redfield kicked in with 12 of his 14 game points and Birch scored all 11 his points. The Trojans had an advantage in three-point conversions and shot 46 percent from outside the three-point arc. The Wolverines converted on only four of 22 shots for a cool 18 percent. Both clubs had trouble at the foul line. The Wolverines were just nine of 22 and the Trojans were eight of 18.

The Wolverines out-rebounded the Trojans 50-36.

Jordan Reed poured in 27 points as the Wolverines hammered the Panthers Friday in a Mid-State Conference tilt.

Ben Birch backed up Reed with 16 points while Ryan Redfield scored 10.

Christian Ridlon pumped in 18 points for the Panthers.

The two clubs went into the halftime locker room tied at 26-all.

The Wolverines had a rough night at the foul line where they converted on just 13 of 34 attempts.
