Nina Ione Lehman, 90, of Wadena, died Tuesday, June 20 at the Tri-County Hospital.
She was born on June 19, 1916, in Bluffton Township, Otter Tail County. Nina married Robert J. Welter, and he died on April 1, 1966. She then married Melvin "Speck" Lehman in Wadena on Aug. 31, 1968. She worked for many families as a housekeeper for many years. She was a member of the Elmer Goche VFW Auxiliary Post 3922. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 24 at Saint Helen's Episcopal Church with the Rev. John Husband officiating. Burial was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery with the Bielema Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were: Michael Welter, Mark Welter, Daniel Welter, Ken Ament, William Higgs and Ted Fischer.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin; son, Harold Welter of Litchfield; three grandchildren: Michael, Mark and Daniel Welter; sister, Stella (Gerald) Bluhm of Waterloo, Iowa; brothers, Tom (Betty) Carnes of Grahn, Mich., and Orville (Monica) Carnes of Sacramento, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Welter; sister, Alice Bluhm; and brother, Edwin Carnes.
