Memorial Day breakfast set for May 26
A Verndale Lioness Memorial Day breakfast will be held at the Verndale Civic Center Monday, May 26 from 7:30 to 11 a.m. There will be scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, muffins, coffee and milk. A free will offering will be collected.
Senior Health clinics offered in June
Senior Health Clinics sponsored by Wadena County Public Health will be held on the following dates:
• Friday, June 20 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Humphrey Manor in Wadena
• Friday, June13 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Sebeka Senior Center
• Wednesday, June 18 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Verndale Christian Missionary Alliance.
Health screening including blood pressure, vision, hearing, medication review, foot care, immunizations, and health information and referrals are provided. Bring your medications along. Please bring your MN Health Plan card if you have one.

Historical Society Participates in Blue Star Museums
The Wadena County Historical Society is honored to join with more than 2,000 museums across America as part of Blue Star Museums, a nationwide program that offers offer free admission to the nation's active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2014. The program provides families an opportunity to enjoy the nation's cultural heritage and learn more about their new communities after a military move. The Wadena County Historical Society is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.or by appointment.
