Sebeka Business engulfed in flames Dec. 11

The Wadena County Sheriff's Office received a report of a structure fire at Olson's Custom Farm Services in Sebeka early Dec.11. Within minutes, police and firefighters arrived on scene to find the main building was fully engulfed with flames. Fire departments from Sebeka, Menahga, Wadena and Wolf Lake battled the fire for hours to contain it. The building sustained substantial damage as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Wadena County Sheriff's Office and the State Fire Marshal's Office. No foul play is suspected.

Wadena business owner a St. Scholastica graduate

Cynthia Behl, co-owner of Behliannos Take and Bake Pizza, graduated Dec. 14 from St. Scholastica University in Duluth with a BS in social work. She plans to continue her education, pursuing her Master's degree in social work.

In addition to running Behliannos, Behl works at Northern Pines Mental Health Center in Wadena.

WDC open gym holiday hours

Wadena-Deer Creek Community Education is offering extended hours for open gym over the holidays. The public is welcome to come to enjoy the gyms and the indoor walking track from 1 to 3 p.m. on Dec. 22, 23, 26, 27 and 29. Gyms will be supervised. Parents are encouraged to accompany their children to open gym to enjoy shooting hoops and getting some exercise.
