Bemidji State University's First-Year Residential Experience (FYRE) program provides a unique academic and social experience specifically designed for first-year students.
FYRE is a voluntary program that assigns interested, new, traditional-aged freshmen to a common living area in Oak Hall where they live only with other first-year students. Living with other first-year students allows participants to easily make new friends and share similar experiences with others who are also new to the university.
Each floor in Oak Hall has two residential assistants and two peer academic assistants to provide support to FYRE residents.
From our area, students participating in FYRE include Amy Brown, Heather Haman, Kayla Kephart and Brandon Kramer.
