Namedropper: Alice Gronlund's piano students

• Piano students of Alice Gronlund, Sebeka, competed in the Minnesota Music Teachers Association 2011 District Piano Contest on Saturday, Jan. 22 at the University of Minnesota Morris.

Meren Huhta, a fourth-grader and the daughter of Ben and Janelle Huhta of Menahga, entered in the Junior A Division and played "Bouree in D Minor" by Alexander.

Kirstan Finn, grade 5, the daughter of Mike and Jodee Finn of Wadena, entered in the Junior B Division and played "Night Rider" by Bober.

Laurel Huhta, a sixth-grader and daughter of Ben and Janelle Huhta of Menahga, was in the Junior B Division. She played "Tarantella, Op. 100, No. 20" by Burgmuller.

Seventh-grader Lydia Huhta, daughter of Peter and Greta Huhta of Sebeka, entered in the Junior B Division, playing "Sonatina" by Jacoby.

Megan Richter, daughter of Brian and Michelle Richter of Verndale, a 10th-grader, played "Tarantella Bravura" by Barden in the Intermediate B Division.
