Najjar, All-State Lutheran Choir to perform in Perham
A group of about 40 high school singers who make up the 2011 Minnesota All-State Lutheran Choir will perform Saturday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Perham.
David Najjar of Wadena is one of the performers in the group.
The concert is free and open to the public. Chosen from applicants from all over the state of Minnesota, these Lutheran young people have been rehearsing at Mount Carmel Ministries Camp near Alexandria prior to embarking on their present tour.
The Minnesota All-State Lutheran Choir program, celebrating its 42nd year, exists to provide an aesthetic experience via choral music and to impart to local congregations enthusiasm and appreciation for music, new and old, in the worship service.
Unique to this concert is audience participation. Each concert is concluded with the choir seated within the audience and everyone taking part in the singing of hymns. This is done to share with the congregations the joy involved in singing the hymns of the church.
