Musky visits nation's capital
Well, it has been one year since I started my travels around the U.S. and Mexico. I really miss Otter Tail Lake! Think I will finally head home after this trip.
Today I am in Washington, D.C. There are lots of monuments, statues and museums here.
I found a building called the National Museum of Natural History and went inside. This place is scary. Everywhere I look, there are paintings and sculptures of animals, animal skeletons and even stuffed animals. Yikes! I better get out of here before I become one of the exhibits!
Walking down Pennsylvania Avenue, I heard the soft sound of a water fountain. I looked in the direction of the sound and saw a big house that is white. In the front yard of the house, I saw the water fountain and a pond. I would have liked to go for a nice swim, but the house and yard was surrounded by a fence of steel bars. Rats!
I noticed a bunch of security guards near a gate in the fence, but was able to stay out of their sight as I hid in the crowds, who were also gazing at the big white house.
Someone in the crowd said that the president lived there. (Hey, can presidents pardon muskrats from evading the Wadena Police?)
OK, that's enough traveling and sightseeing for this muskrat for a while. It's time to come home. Maybe you'll see me someday soon at the Wadena Airport (hint, hint).
'Till next time,
Musky the Muskrat
