Motley man killed in pickup accident Sunday morning
Michael James Dewald, 25, a resident of Motley, was killed Sunday morning when the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup he was driving was involved in a one-vehicle accident in Lyons Township, approximately 18 miles northeast of Wadena.
Deputies found the crash site in Section 26 near Oylen.
Dewald was pronounced dead at the scene. Another occupant of the vehicle, Karl Raphel Kliber, a 36-year-old resident of Villard, Minn., was transported by ambulance to Lakewood Health Systems in Staples with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident was reported at 1:33 a.m. Alcohol and speed were believed to be factors in the accident according to Wadena County Sheriff Mike Carr. An investigation of the accident was still in progress Monday.
