Miss Wadena Scholarship Pageant seeks contestants
The 2012 Miss Wadena Scholarship Pageant is seeking contestants, according to a press release sent to the Pioneer Journal. Cash scholarships are available for Miss Wadena 2012, as well as the first and second runner up. Other cash awards are given for talent, interview and evening gown portions of the event, as well as an ambassador award. Each contestant receives a $100 cash scholarship for participating. Contestants must be female and enrolled at WDC School, and must be set to graduate in 2012 or 2013. Additionally, contestants must be single and never married, of good moral character and be a citizen of the U.S. Contestants will also be required to attend rehearsals, which are scheduled for the first three weeks of June. The pageant will be held June 23, and is open to the first 10 qualified applicants. Application deadline is May 27, and applications can be picked up at Thrifty White Drug and the WDC High School office.
