Miron, Wolverines silence Thunder

Senior Emily Miron dominated the post Tuesday night, scoring 35 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and blocking seven shots in a 73-52 drubbing of Long Prairie-Grey Eagle.

The Wolverines exploded for an early 10-0 lead, and led 36-28 at the midway point.

"We came out ready to play," WDC Head Coach Keith Ferris said. "They couldn't stop our inside game."

Hope Theisen and Caitlin Volkmann had 15 and 12 points respectively. Theisen also came up with seven steals.

"Hope Theisen played great defensively, stealing the ball seven times and resulting in some east fast break points."

Jenna Langer and Samantha Zastrow carried the load for the Thunder with 20 points apiece.

The Wolverines are now 13-9 overall.

Emily Miron had a double-double at Crosby on Feb. 8 as the Wolverines swept their Mid-State Conference regular season series with the Rangers.

Miron tacked up 17 points to go along with 14 rebounds.

Hope Theisen and Caitlin Volkmann both hit double figures in combining for 26 points.

Chelsey Bonsante finished with half of Crosby-Ironton's game points.
