Miron leads Wolverines to win over Patriots

Emily Miron paced the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines with 24 points, six rebounds and six blocked shots Tuesday evening in a 61-54 victory over Mid-State Conference foe Pequot Lakes.

The Wolverines had the Patriots out-gunned in the first half and took a commanding 31-16 lead into the halftime locker room.

It was a different Pequot Lakes team that took the floor in the second half. The Pats out-scored the Wolverines 38-31.

Avery Jackson and Hope Theisen followed Miron into double figures with 17 and 10 points respectively. The Wolverines shot 47 percent from the field.

Mattie Lueck and Kayla Miller were Pequot's top gunners with 14 points apiece. Vanessa Lane chipped in with 10.

Emily Miron came up with a rare triple-double Thursday as the Wolverines shot past the Panthers in a Mid-State Conference battle.

Miron tacked up 25 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 10 blocked shots.

Caitlin Volkmann was also in double figures for the Wolverines scoring a dozen points. Volkmann combined with Hope Theisen for 10 assists.

The Wolverines held the Panthers to just 11 points in the first half as they built a 26-point cushion.

Katie Klein paced the Panthers in scoring with seven tallies.
