Wadena-Deer Creek's Logan Meyer not only beat his previous best throw in the shot put Tuesday, he completely shattered it.

Meyer won the event with a record toss of 54-6.75 feet. The WDC senior's previous best was a 51-11. It is believed that Meyer is now second on the Wadena-Deer Creek records list behind Reg Hooten. Reg topped the 55-foot mark in 1977.

Meyer was also a top finisher in the discus with a third-place fling of 122-2.

The Wolverines also stood out in the distance events with the 4x800 relay team running a winning 8:53.69 and Will Eliason turning in a runner-up time of 11:18.79 in the 3,200 run.

The Wolverines racked up 44 points for a sixth place finish in the 10-team meet. Hawley-Ulen-Hitterdal took top honors with 137 points.

Autumn Jahnke's third place vault of 7-6 paced the Wadena-Deer Creek girls in Tuesday's meet.

The Wolverines tied Wheaton-Herman-Norcross for eighth in the 10-team meet with 19 points.
