Mench attends FCCLA training
Recently, Anissa Mench of Wadena-Deer Creek Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) attended Dynamic Leadership I Training at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn.
Mench participated in many interactive and fun activities. Campers presented workshops on many different topics pertaining to FCCLA. Some of these included financial fitness, student body, families first, STOP the violence, power of one, and STAR Events. The state officers presented this year's state theme, "The Journey's Just Begun."
State officers also worked on plans for this year and areas they want to focus on. Guest speaker Rhett Laubach was the highlight of the training. He brought energy and motivation to the days of camp and spoke on the topic of leadership. Campers met with state staff to discuss upcoming FCCLA meetings across the state that the officers will be putting on. Everyone left with exciting new ideas for the year.
FCCLA is a dynamic and effective student organization that helps young people become leaders in their communities. It is the only national career and technical student organization with family as its central focus. FCCLA has more than 219,000 members and almost 7000 chapters. The programs are planned and run by students. Members become strong leaders in their families, careers, and communities.
