Menahga man faces assault, threat charges
A man from Menahga faces charges in Wadena County District Court including terroristic threats, fourth-degree assault, and two counts of fifth-degree assault.
Shortly before 8 p.m. on April 26, a Menahga police officer responded to a residence there and observed Michael Dean Lustila, 50, of Menahga, pounding on the door of the residence and yelling profanities, according to court documents.
Lustila admitted he had been drinking alcohol and told police the homeowners owed him money, court records said. But the homeowners said Lustila had demanded they go buy him alcohol and when they refused, he "became irate, swore at them, pounded on their door, and shouted, 'If you don't answer the door and talk to me, me [and] my friends will come back and take care of both of you.'" When the officers at the scene placed Lustila under arrest, he swore at the officers and spit in a Wadena County sheriff's deputy's face, according to court documents.
Lustila has a previous domestic violence conviction from April 2008.
Lustila was charged April 28. Bond was set at $70,000 with no conditions, or $30,000 (or $3,000 cash bail) with conditions. Lustila's next hearing was set for May 11.
