Menahga hangs 100 on Verndale boys

The Bertha-Hewitt Bears held Verndale to a season-low 18 points Tuesday in a 64-18 Park Region Conference rout.

Jeremy Fretham paced the Class A state-ranked Bears with 13 points while Patrick Riewer and Josh Farber tallied 11 each.

The Pirates were held to just seven points in the second half as Caleb Burczyk was held to a single point. Kyle Booth scored a team-high seven for the Pirates.

The Braves hit the century mark in a 48-point Park Region Conference rout of the Pirates.

Derek Pihlaja dropped in four treys en route to a 23-point night for the Braves. Kasey Tyge also scored four three-pointers as he netted 18 points. Marlin Aho and Tom Gruchow combined for 33 points.

Verndale's Caleb Burczyk led all scorers with 24 points. Isaac Schmitz and Dallas Ehrmantraut hit 11 and 10 points respectively.
