The mayors were attending a conference prior to stopping in Wadena to see the murals. Ardell Brede is the president of the League of Minnesota Cities.

Tom Stiehm said he wanted to see if this is something that could be down in Austin's downtown, which is undergoing a mainstreet improvement project.

Wolden said the Wadena mural project is very unique and brings people to town.

"We're seeing a lot more traffic," he said.
